Father and Son

I just had to post this picture of Joe and JJ. We just went through JJ's clothes and this shirt is part of an outfit he has that I was able to get out for the summer. When Joe saw him in it he realized he had a shirt almost identical and went and put it on so we could take a picture.

Joe's Scout Award

Joe just received the On My Honor Award through our church for boy scouts. He was in the Young Men's Presidency in our last ward. When we moved they kept telling him he needed to come back for their court of honor. He though he was going to be receiving a historic trails patch from a campout they did last year. He didn't realize he was going to receive this award. To receive the On My Honor Award you have to-
1. Be registered and participate in a Church-sponsored scouting unit.
2. Be at least twenty-one years of age
3. Have served a minimum of three years in the Aaronic Priesthood or Primary
4. Be thoroughly familiar with the Aaronic Priesthood or Primary program as shown in an interview with the Bishop
5. Be worthy as shown in an interview with the bishop
6. Complete the basic training for Scout leaders
Way to go Joe!

Fun Eggs

For Easter I made these eggs from the site Our Best Bites. I made them a couple of weeks before easter and then had them sitting on the table until Easter (we threw them away after Easter) Ben and Sara helped me. It was a lot of fun and so easy. I think it would be a little complicated for little kids, but I loved that we didn't have dye on our fingers when we were done. I think I am going to do this again next year.

JJ's Mess part 2

I came into the kitchen one day to find JJ making a huge mess with the flour. He was sure having a great time, but as soon as he saw me he knew he was in trouble.
I told him to put the lid back on and he did. I just had to take some pictures though to save it for posterity.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. We watched conference all day and then we did an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. My Aunt Debi came over for dinner witch was great. It is the first year that we have had so few people. I made ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner which are some of my favorites. I am so thankful for our Savior and all he did for us. I love that Easter is a great reminder to us of his ministry and his resurrection.

JJ's Mess

One day I was getting a washrag to wash JJ off so he could get down from the table. I came back to the table to find him with this bowl in front of him eating out of the bowl. He loves Jello salad and apparently decided that he needed more and he would help himself.

Maddie is 3!

Maddie's birthday was on March 22nd.
We celebrated by going to Chuck E Cheeses. She had so much fun! That night we had cake and ice cream. She decided she wanted a Winnie the Pooh cake. So I made the same one Emily had for her third birthday. Her Great-Grandpa Mefford and Ben and Sara came to celebrate with us. She loved all of it and was so happy all day. She has been waiting since Emily's birthday in August for her birthday to finally get here. I can't believe how grown up she is now. She talks all the time about everything-she is still hard for other people to understand though because she has a hard time saying her c and g sounds. We love her so much and are so greatful that she is in our family.

Joe's Work

Joe received an award at the beginning of March from work. It was the Quality Excellence Award for the fourth quarter of 2009. We went to a banquet the week of Mardi Gras so he could receive the award. They had yummy southern food and king cake complete with baby at the end. We had a fun time and he even won this huge bouqet at the end from a raffle.
Congratulations Joe! I am so proud of all the hard work you do for our family!

Clapping

So I know I have a lot to catch up on and I promise I will. We got a new computer a couple of months ago and I haven't taken the time to upload my program for my camera and all the posts I want to do have pictures to go along with them. I wanted to write this though so I didn't forget.

Emily and Madison were at the dinner table and were clapping a lot. Emily was clapping really loud and Madison was having a hard time clapping as loud. Emily said, " I am the best loud clapper ever" and Madison said, "Me too" Emily said, " No Maddie you are not the best loud clapper- you are the best beautiful clapper."
I loved that she came up with something else that Maddie was doing good so that Maddie didn't feel left out. Maddie was as pleased as could be to be the best beautiful clapper.

Joe's 32nd Birthday

Joe's birthday was on March 12th. We had a lot of fun. We went to Pojos and played all the games there. The kids had a blast. I think Joe did too. We were trying to think of something that he would enjoy, but that they could participate in too. After Pojos we went to Subway and got us sandwiches and the kids got Mcdonald's Cheeseburgers. Then the kids got to hang out at my Grandpa's house while I took Joe to get a massage at the student clinic in Boise. After his massage we went home, and I had to leave for Pack Meeting because I am over the Bears in cub scouts. They waited for me to get home and we had dinner and cake and ice cream. He then opened presents. The kids got to pick something for him from the dollar store so Emily chose the pills that dissolve in water and leave a sponge animal-Maddie chose a pull back race car- and JJ chose a crossword puzzle calendar. I got him some shoes. Overall it was a very fun, busy day. We love you Joe!
