Exploding Light

Today we had a light explode. Joe had changed it this morning and it worked fine all morning long. Before lunch I went to turn the light on again and there was a loud bang and a spark and one of our floodlights in our kitchen shot out of the socket and shattered all over the floor. The filament stayed in the socket and was smoking. I've never seen anything like it before.
